Distinguished Prof. Danny Weihs, head of the Technion Autonomous Systems Program, received the prestigious MAFAT award for creative thinking for outstanding researcher.
Intelligent Systems Lab: the proposed automated surveillance system involves an existing marine platform and a quad-copter that can extend the sensor range of the surveillance boat. The idea is that the surveillance boat carries the quad-copter to the vicinity of the surveyed area and the quad-copter launches and patrols that vicinity to collect surveillance information.
President Shimon Peres visited the Technion on Wednesday January 8th 2014 and was presented with cutting edge researches, three of them performed at the Technion Computer Science Department: Robot “Ant” – Multi-agent Intelligent Systems and Drones landing on unmanned watercraft.
